GKN Driveline → GKN Automotive – Update to company page to reflect company name. I had previously tried to add it but there was a question over it. The previous name of the page was correct but the company has been known for the last 16 years as GKN Automotive (See Companies House for evidence)). They just wanted to update the Wikipedia page to reflect this. Hopefully, that's ok?

Apologies, I was having a hard time finding the discussion and feared I had duplicated the request. For instance I can see @DrVogel has replied somewhere else but I can't see that comment. The COI disclosure is that GKN Automotive is a client of Performance Communications - We do the communications for them. They asked if it was possible for us to correct the Wiki entry so myself and my team, have updated the logo and a couple of other bits. Personally, I'm not a big fan at all of paid edits on Wikipedia. And you're not supposed to edit an article if you have a conflict of interest. Dr. Vogel (talk) 10:10, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I would agree with that DrVogel. Wikipedias strength is its integrity. That comes in part from the dedicated editors that keep the information up to date. My intention here was not to mislead though, merely to point out a change to company information. I did try to follow the guidelines and have tried to remain transparent throughout to remain in the spirit of the tool Andy murphy 3434 (talk) 08:26, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Owner and Parent Change[edit]

COI I work for the PR agency that does the communications for GKN Automotive who have asked if it's possible for us to correct the information held. An overeager colleague mistakenly tried to correct the information but I have tried to revert and post here to be transparent about the COI and ask for approval for the change.

Justification

I would like to propose a change to the information about the Owner and Parent of GKN Automotive.

On 20th April 2023, Dowlais completed the demerger of the GKN Automotive, GKN Powder Metallurgy and GKN Hydrogen businesses from Melrose Industries PLC (“Melrose”) into Dowlais (the “Demerger”). As such I would like to update the Owner information in the info panel to remove Melrose PLC and replace it with Dowlais Group Plc. The website for Dowlais is https://www.dowlais.com/
