Quite a few details in this article are repeating myths that grew up around Soviet wartime journalism well after the war -- and that appear in the popular publications that are cited in the bibliography.
For example:
Claim that her work was banned and hidden in an archive and closed off until 1966, that her work was accused of distorting the truth.
Claim that one of her photographs was presented as evidence at Nuremberg (curiously it is the same photo that is claimed to have distorted the trut).
Also, she was clearly carving out a major career for herself as a photographer before WW2 and her husband's execution. To claim that she dedicated her life to photography after this undermines her personal agency. EWinNZ (talk) 13:43, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
EWinNZ If you have sources that contradict the information documented in the article, they should be added to the article. Wikipedia allows anyone to edit as long as the information included in the article is verified with RS. SusunW (talk) 14:43, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I do have sources, but they are archival and have not yet been published (I am working on a manuscript presently and do not want to disclose my sources until it is published). I have not edited out these claims, but I am flagging them in this Talk note. The sources provided are based more on hearsay and gossip that is often repeated and not on any sort of actual published records of archival information. Furthermore, they are starting to creep into non-Russian publications about Sanko. I will add a note to the Nuremberg trial claim. EWinNZ (talk) 18:55, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
