Country[edit]

This page says the movie is partially from South Korea, but imdb claims North Korea. Seems odd, but KCCKP (among other) confirms: http://www.kcckp.net/en/periodic/todaykorea/index.php?contents+1794+2006-01+80+27 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.68.157.4 (talk) 05:42, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The booklet included on the DVD of the film by Eureka! also details the production efforts by Philippe Caza and Rene Laloux in the North Korean studio, but does not name the actual studio. Should I contest the claim on the IMDB page and just have it say "a North Korean studio" anyway? Takeshi357 (talk) 18:52, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
...and then I actually clicked the link to SEK that clearly says they're located in the North, not South. So yeah, I'm correcting that error. Takeshi357 (talk) 05:56, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The title[edit]

I'm not really sure about the use of the 'Light Years' title over the original, seeing as that title was used for the edited hack-job by Harvey Weinstein who credited himself as the director over René Laloux. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Takeshi357 (talkcontribs) 22:08, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, I think "Light Years" should redirect to Gandahar and not vice versa. 80.217.186.241 (talk) 22:24, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's a good thing we all agree! Let's do this. Imadeitmyself (talk) 19:32, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

General note[edit]

The Film was made in North Korea (according to the note that come with the DVD issue), this is the original french version and also has a short film Le Prisonieres.

One point about this film that is not mentioned the Deformed, they are based on the Characters mentioned in a short story by Cordwainer Smith

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Planet_Named_Shayol , the character in the film who leads Sylvain from the forest to the village inhabited by people made of stone is called Shayol (spelt slightly different in the subtitles).
