Unsourced Information[edit]

This page has been subject to much unsourced information for quite a while now. Right now it's a list of characters supposedly appearing in the show and associated voice actors (even though the show won't involve dialogue). I am wondering if protecting would be called upon, or something. GVO8891 (talk) 06:11, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that there has been a lot of unsourced information. One of the recent culprits is a now blocked sock. However, your recent edits to the article deleted virtually all of the information in the cast section, including character links and descriptions. By all means, delete what is unsourced but not valid content. --AussieLegend ()
That's what I did- deleted unsourced information. Yes, it does include much of the cast section, but that's because absolutely none of them have been confirmed to appear in this series. Only three voice actors- all French- are known to make up the cast.
If character links and descriptions are what you care about, then why not just bring those back into the article? Why bring back dubious-at-best information that won't improve the article (especially when said info outweighs the valid information)? GVO8891 (talk) 16:08, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I could ask you, why delete the character descriptions if they are correct? We don't normally include bare lists, we try to include character information. We also don't split sections between characters and actors. It's normally something like "<actor> as <character>, <description>", as was the case in the version prior to yours. The list as it stands now includes a number of poor links. Instead of linking to the correct articles they link as follows:
  • Garfield - main Garfield article instead of the character article
  • Jon - links to a general article about the name "Jon" instead of the character article
  • Arlene - links to a disambiguation page instead of the character article
This all needs to be fixed. Your version is actually worse quality than the previous version which, while unsourced, was at least linked correctly and written as we expect a cast section to be written. Please fix it as soon as possible. Don't leave problems that you have introduced for others to fix when you know what needs to be done. --AussieLegend () 16:55, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The main character list for The Garfield Show is just a list as well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Garfield_Show#Main Are you saying that's also a problem? If so, I'll put in descriptions for the characters here. The character list for Garfield and Friends is also formatted differently: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garfield_and_Friends#Characters
I'll admit that my removal of info down to what can be confirmed was rushed, in regards to the lack of links, and now non-specific links for named characters. I'm still confused as to why you'd bring back speculative information because of that. Are you not familiar with the Garfield franchise to decide what should stay in here (not trying to shame you, just wondering)?
As for separating the cast from the characters, the reason I did that was because the former are listed without any credentials. However, two of them have been on TGS before, so surely they'd be reprising roles here. I can at least attribute them.
And "you know what needs to be done"? I only knew this because you just told me so. GVO8891 (talk) 18:03, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Episode titles[edit]

This site has episodes of the show, although it looks like they are only available to those in France. Since it at least shows the (French) names of episodes, would this be an appropriate source for episode titles? GVO8891 (talk) 18:22, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
