I have added the update to the awards section, the further reading section and the link to the official page. I have not added the rest of the exteral links because they are not in line with the external link guidelines. Sarahj2107 (talk) 10:55, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Sarahj2107, Aosberg I ended up removing the awards section altogether. I read through the article, and DentalTown Magazine gives out 173 "award" categories each year. Nominees can win with a tiny plurality of the votes cast; it was 17% in the case of Garfield's 2014 win. At this point, I'm not convinced of the significance of these awards. I also declined the article at www.drbicuspid.com as it appears to be a press release. Best, Altamel (talk) 02:50, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Altamel, Sarahj2107 I respect your decision to remove the awards section based off of the information you're reading inside of DentalTown Magazine. But, based off of your 2014 example this information clearly states that Garfield held 17% of the total votes, and although that may not be the majority of the votes, it still put Garfield as the leader of the pack to win the category for "Best Dental Scrap Refiner". This 17% also doesn't reflect that there are more than 200,000 Dental Professionals that are eligible to vote for the recipient of this award and that the Townie Choice Awards have been ongoing since 2003. As one of the nations longest standing precious metal refiners, at 124 years old, we are committed to being the nation's best dental scrap refiner and consistently attend over 350 tradeshows a year that specifically serve dental professionals in North America. Throughout the year we actively pursue dental professionals to leave us positive reviews online or to vote for us in the DentalTown Townie Choice Awards as part of our strategy to build our brand. As recently as a month ago, we polled our external sales force of 35 individuals to see what factors resonate best with dental professionals when obtaining first time customers. In an open ended question, 90% of those individuals said that dental professionals reference our DentalTown Townie Award as being the determining factor to do business with Garfield Refining. I ask that you please reconsider the rescinding of our Awards section as it proves to be a focal point for newly acquired customers as well as a focal point for holding our internal employees to a certain standard that motivates them to strive for greatness as we push this company in to the next 100+ years. Thank you for your consideration, Aosberg (talk) 11:18, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
