All of those views are following the subject's murder; whilst this may be of interest, it does not make the subject notable. Clearly there was no interest in this person prior to their death, or the page would already have existed. Should pages be created for all the victims? Surely such pages would attract views in the same manner, but this is no justification for their inclusion.

A player of rugby league is presumed notable if they have played first grade rugby league (depending on the country).
The subject has played only at the Championship level - per that page this appears to be a second grade league, behind the Super League. The Workington Town page does in fact contain a list of notable players, and many of these do not have their own page despite being far more notable that the subject, based on the article's own criteria of (being) "Hall of Fame" inductees, (having) played during Workington Town's Super League season, or (having been) international representatives before, or after, their time at Workington Town. The subject therefore fails to meet the criteria as far as I can see.
Additionally, since the article was only created after the subject's murder, please see WP:Recentism. If the subject was not notable whilst alive, death certainly fails to make them notable. A moment's thought shows this to be nonsensical - every dead person would have an article if this was so!
Finally, please refer also to WP:What_Wikipedia_is_not. Death, whilst sad, is not justification to "remember" the subject in any way. 86.154.202.36 (talk) 18:42, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

While the Championship is the second division in England I am not sure that it would be right to consider it "second grade". It is not a division made up of Super League Club's "B" sides, it is instead a division of senior teams from clubs who do not compete in the Super League. They can earn promotion into the Super League. It is much more analogous to the Football League Championship than it is to the Queensland Cup for example. 4.22.141.200 - please provide a reference that Natalee Holloway "died" - the police investigating the fact she is missing way be interested to hear from you. Missing people always generate much more media interest and hence notability, it is totally different to Purdham.
Mattlore - By definition they are not in the "first grade" as they are in a level below the top level Super League into which they can earn promotion, as you say. Anyone like to offer a valid argument? Halsteadk (talk) 18:51, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Halsteadk - Well, really that depends on your definition of "first grade" - I would consider first grade rugby league to be competition between senior sides of clubs (ie, not reserve, junior, masters etc teams). I don't think this article should be deleted. Even though the circumstances of his death make him more notable, his sports career was professional, and fairly notable, albeit non-international.--MacRusgail (talk) 15:55, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
