Fuel prices in the United States

"Drivers in the United States traveled 500,000 miles (800,000 km) per day in 2011,[citation needed] and were expected to travel 8.158 billion miles (1.3129×1010 km) in 2012."

The above sentence contradicts itself and requires more scrutiny than just adding a citation. Simple division of the 2012 figure by 365 produces a daily value over 22 million miles. And data from the Federal Highway Administration says none of those numbers represent anything anyway. I don't know how to add/edit to include citations, but I noted my sources below and the sentence could be replaced with:

"Drivers in the United States averaged 8.082 million miles (13.007 million km) daily in 2011, and 2.969 billion miles (4.777 billion km) annually in 2012."
