Call for a Major Reconstruction to This Page[edit]

I would like to propose a total reconstruction of this page. I think that the Gender Empowerment Measure is a very important tool for development measurement and warrants a much fuller description and discussion. I propose to add a number of new sections to this page, including origins of the GEM, factors considered in the GEM, uses for the GEM, critical assessments of the GEM and proposed alternatives to the GEM. Furthermore, I would like to link this page to other relevant pages including the Capabilities Approach, the Human Development Index, and the Gender-related Development Index. Needs link to the UN report giving the index.[edit]

A link to the United Nations report containing the index is needed. Links to interpretation of the index in academic journals are no replacement for the original report. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:D591:5F10:7CBF:736C:AC12:95E6 (talk) 04:46, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
