Creationist plant ? (untitled comment)[edit]

This article is a creationist plant, probably copied from CreationWiki or such. It ignores the effects of negative selection on deleterious mutations, and posits unrealistic models of population genetics. MERGE[edit]

I propose to merge, following that discussion, quoted from Joanna's talk page.

Hello,

Would you like to take a look at genetic entropy? I get a feeling that it's just a creationist take on genetic load, and the "article" should be turned into a redirect to load, while what little content there is should be merged into John C. Sanford, since it's basically an ad for that guy's book. This is not my field however, so I'd like to check that I'm not missing something here. Since I frequently see you on genetic load, you seem like the person to ask.

I agree with you. I think the best redirect is Genetic_load#Deleterious_Mutation, linking just to one section because the rest of the genetic load page isn't so relevant. An alternative option is Muller's ratchet, but that's only about asexual populations, so I think not as good.Joannamasel (talk) 20:09, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

If there are no objections, I shall proceed to do so in a few days / weeks.

To clarify, the way I see it the content is to go into John C. Sanford, and the link to Genetic_load#Deleterious_Mutation. — Gamall Wednesday Ida (t · c) 21:32, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
In the absence of any opposition, I shall probably proceed to merge sometime this weekend. — Gamall Wednesday Ida (t · c) 17:48, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
 Done. — Gamall Wednesday Ida (t · c) 17:55, 12 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
