Untitled[edit]

According to Notable Names Database, Chakiris is gay. May Wikipedia address/admit that?

Absolutely only if reliably sourced. If NNDB is anything like the Internet Movie database, it is not reliable.--Stetsonharry (talk) 02:38, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I found a source for this. "Now at the age of 76, the out actor sat down with EDGE to talk appearing in musicals during the closeted 1950s." 72.152.136.241 (talk) 20:41, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I thought people knew already. Apple8800 (talk) 14:52, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Who is "people"? Only those who'd read this somewhere they considered reliable, or been told by someone they trusted, would know. -- Jack of Oz [Talk] 06:38, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The source linked for the "openly gay" mentions nothing what-so-ever about his sexual orientation. Whether it's true or not, that source does not support the assertion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.5.5.111 (talk) 04:52, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We still have nothing in the article to support these categories, so I've boldly removed them. -- Jack of Oz [Talk] 03:44, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I noticed that that Chakiris is in Category:Gay Actors, despite there still being no mention of this within the article and no source to support it. I have removed him from that category. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:EA01:1090:A4B5:1120:6EE4:DFD4 (talk) 11:21, 18 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Chakiris and Richard Beymer are both gay. (109.156.191.82 (talk) 19:14, 2 December 2018 (UTC))[reply]

Oldest Best Supporting Actor Winner[edit]

Photograph[edit]

Are you sure that's from 2019? He looks awfully young for 87 even if you assume he's dyed his hair and beard. Kostaki mou (talk) 23:55, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering that also. But then I found this photo from 2023 when he was 91. I guess he has good genes? https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/george-chakiris-attends-the-16th-annual-national-arts-news-photo/1829733983Pascalulu88 (talk) 00:13, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
