Canada/US[edit]

Just curious...in what way is this man American? Or, alternatively, why was this American born in Canada? There is nothing to indicate this, but he semms to have been claimed by both countries' projects. Cheers, LindsayHi 11:32, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I put Canada since he's born there. What nationality were his parents? Leofric1 (talk) 12:53, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know. I know nothing of him except what i read here; that's why i'm confused. Cheers, LindsayHi 13:08, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not coming up with any sources for him. I'm curious where the information came from. The article originally asserts he's American with no online sources to back it up. This information will have to be removed if sources can't be found. I'm just trying to help the article along if I can. Leofric1 (talk) 21:03, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The listed Tuck reference describes him as "Noted U.S. poet, born in Halifax, Nova Scotia." It goes on to say he took special courses at the University of California (not my source for his being American, but may be indicative that he resided in the US). The Clute reference describes him as a "US writer" but doesn't give his birthplace. Ash's Who's Who in Science Fiction has an entry, but is silent on his nationality. ISFDB lists his birthplace as USA, but since that is user contributed, I would tend to trust the Tuck reference first. In any case, the Clute and the Tuck are my sources for the information originally included in the article.--Rtrace (talk) 18:37, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Unless he was educated in Canada, I don't think he's in scope for WikiProject Canada. It looks like he lived most of his life and achieved fame as an American. Changed from WPCanada to WP USA. PKT(alk) 00:07, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
