George Souris was not Deputy Premier of NSW like Sir Davis Hughes[edit]

When the Coalition is in Government the Country or National Party becomes Deputy Premier. George Souris did not become Deputy Premier because the entirely of his Nationals leadership was when the Coalition in Opposition. He is therefore the first Country/Nationals leader who did not become Deputy Premier since Sir Davis Hughes. This is an established fact and there is no need for a citation. All one has to do is to do crosscheck the list of NSW Deputy Premiers with that of NSW Country/Nationals leaders to see who or who did not become Deputy Premier and one can see all the Country/Nationals leaders who came after Hughes and prior to Souris became Deputy Premiers.

If a request for a citation persists on this then I will point out examples from other articles where an established fact has been stated without the need for a citation. 122.106.80.3 (talk) 20:49, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I also like to state I do not appreciate having to state why a citation is not necessary to people who have little or no knowledge about the subject. I have known about George Souris for a very long time while it is clear that those who has asked for a citation only knows about him for a few seconds prior to requesting the citation. 122.106.80.3 (talk) 20:56, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see where you're coming from, but unfortunately this is the kind of thing that needs a citation. No one is disputing the factual accuracy of the statement, but without sourcing it could be original research. Please don't take offence at this, and pointing out other articles which are similarly erroneous is a case of WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS which doesn't help the argument much. If this is a significant fact about him, there'll be a source somewhere stating it. In any case the statement is not even being removed, so there's no urgency here. I suggest you have a look around for a source backing up the statement, because if there isn't one we can't really include it; see the previous point on original research. As I said if a citation request persists I will point out other example(s) and if a citation is such an urgency to you then I suggest you go to the other example(s) and asked for a citation for them. As for comment about original research, this is not about original research this is about simple deduction. You do not need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out that Souris was the first Country/Nationals leader who did not become Deputy Premier since Sir Davis Hughes 122.106.80.3 (talk) 23:42, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No you don't, but simple deduction does not guarantee inclusion in an encyclopedia entry. Please read the link about WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, because that isn't really an acceptable argument (and actually there may be some stuff in the WP:OR section that might help you). As far as I can tell (and I have had a brief look), there are no easy-to-find sources online, so if you are that keen to have this in the article without the citation needed tag, you really need to go and find a source. Having said all that, this is an entirely uncontroversial statement and I have no problem with it being in the article. Frickeg (talk) 00:36, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The reasoning given by Frickeg is completely unbelievable and utterly irritating and do not agree with it one bit. 220.239.167.151 (talk) 09:45, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
