Assassination?[edit]

Why is this even called an assassination here, rather than a murder? We define assassination as follows: "Assassination is the act of deliberately killing a prominent or important person, such as heads of state, politicians, royalty, celebrities, or CEOs." I don't believe Tiller fits any of those categories. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 02:12, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You can regard physicians as important people as many people depend for life or quality of life on them. And beside that, according to the mentioned assassination page: An assassination may be prompted by political and military motives. And that political motive is loud and clear. Category:Murdered physicians has lots of entries. Tiller is the only physician whose death WP places in the special subset of murders called assassinations. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 10:46, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
A quick look on a few of them gives me the idea that some of them are mislabelled. The Banner talk 11:09, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Political spin term removed[edit]

@The Banner, WP:NPOV prevents us from using political spin terms such as "pro-choice" in articles. You can add "pro-abortion rights" if it helps you to clarify who he meant in the quote. Thanks. Elizium23 (talk) 00:51, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I call that censorship. And we have WP:SPADE. When backed up by sources, we should tell the truth. Not twiddle around it out of fear of hurting someone feelings. The Banner talk 08:45, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Text claims late terms abortions were only performed in extreme cases, but is contradicted by source[edit]

Tiller treated patients who discovered late in pregnancy that their fetuses had severe or fatal birth defects. He also aborted healthy late-term fetuses in cases where two doctors certified that carrying the fetus to term would cause the woman "substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function."

This doesn't seem to be supported by the source, which states that 3/4 of the abortions were teenagers who had hidden the pregnancy until late term. Similarly, the other late-term clinics state that the majority of late-term abortions are "elective". Ketil (talk) 06:53, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Christin Gilbert[edit]

Why is the death of Christin Gilbert not mentioned here? 136.32.195.44 (talk) 21:08, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
