Sources?[edit]

Can anybody source Abramovich's attempted takeover of Cagliari? Otherwise I'll flag it.

Harry Harris says it in his book "The Chelski Revolution", although I found a few things in that book not 100% correct, but I guess it is something.
Be good if you can get something into the article, I've tried to reference it with some newspaper articles but it's the sort of thing that's quite hard to get a definitive answer on unless Abramovich or Cagliari have said something in public. The Independent piece talks about it being "an open secret", which suggests that there was something to it, but that's about as definite as you'll get I fear. This article is.. really.. really biased towards Zola.

I think that the 10 shirt wasn't really retired by Cagliari. The only retired shirt of my knowledge was the 11 of Gigi Riva.

Is there any truth to Zola appearing in the video for this power ballad?

There is no evidence of this being true. Sounds like urban legend...

It is absolutely an urban legend, very ridicoulus too! Zola was 17 years old living in Sardina while the video was shoted in London. At the time there were no things such "low cost flight" or similar. Why the hell a sardinian 17 year old boy, who wants to be a footbal player and who doesn't speak any english at that time, would have flight to London make a video for a foregneir singer, at the time completely unknown in Italy, and after come back to Sardinia to play football and never do something like that in his all life? Or more simply why the hell there are no evidence of it (the blog citated is not a serious source at all, it just show a picture from the video and in Italy nobody ever knows about. Stats box[edit]

Would be nice to get a complete stats box like this one on the John Terry page. I found a complete resource of Terry's career stats and put this new style of box in with complete stats, and it's much better. The current box on this page doesn't have columns for European matches.
