Indiscriminate list[edit]

True. However I removed the tag. There does not seem to be a way to present this material except as an indiscriminate list. Readers can choose to check out the list or ignore it as they like. Upon the discovery of seven new species of extinct giant rats on the island of East Timor, i have updated and more intensively linked the article with other areas within Wikipedia and supplied a new reference. Alleged Solution[edit]

This user at mathoverflow claims the Giant Rat in fact comes from an obscure math textbook: https://mathoverflow.net/questions/22299/what-are-some-examples-of-colorful-language-in-serious-mathematics-papers/57044#57044 .
