Bad picture[edit]

Why is the standard on Wikipedia to use terrible images for everybody? There are much clearer and better images of this guy than the one in use. Torbslifre (talk) 04:14, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Torbslifre it’s probably because no one could find one that we can use freely. Doug Weller talk 09:18, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mistake with stat[edit]

Hello, I noticed that for GG’s goals for celtic it says 19 however I believe the correct amount is 26. :) 86.29.158.182 (talk) 14:58, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not Romani[edit]

seriously that person who keeps editing his personal info should stop. Giorgos is not Romani. How do I know? I'm a member of his family. Egiakou (talk) 15:08, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to have the impression that the article is claiming Giorgos is not Greek but Romani, which is not the case. The article claims he is a Greek of Romani heritage, which is repeated in several places around the 'Net. Reliable sources must take precedent over what a purported family member claims.   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 22:43, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It would seem that he is Greek and Romani.
Romani is not a nationality and so there is no conflict between his Greek nationality and his Romani heritage.
There are reliable sources that mean the inclusion of the Romani heritage in the article is entirely justified.
You (User:Egiakou) may not agree and feel you know the 'truth' of the situation but Wikipedia runs on the basis of verifiability - not of truth.
It took me a while to get my head around that but I have to admit that I can't think of a better way.
Wikipedia:Verifiability, not truth
If you aren't happy to accept that you will need to start a separate discussion elsewhere to see if you can persuade enough editors to ditch this fundamental principle and move to something else. Whatever that might be it won't rely on the basis of family membership.
Until then he will remain "a Greek of Romani heritage" on Wikipedia - lawsuit or otherwise. Lukewarmbeer (talk) 07:52, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

False information[edit]

The same source in Greek you use in the personal life section clearly states Giorgos Giakoumakis comes from Peza Heraklion. He is not Romani, never has been. I'm a member of his family and people start asking me if I'm Romani having read this false Wikipedia page you insist on posting. Delete this or I will sue. Have a good day. Egiakou (talk) 07:03, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is not how Wikipedia works. You either need to provide evidence from a reliable source directly contradicting the sourced information – which this does not do – or evidence that the sources are not reliable.   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 21:50, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
