Misuse of Funds

Didn't Giolotti disburse funds to buy votes? In "The Roosevelt Myth," John T. Flynn states, "Roosevelt discovered what the Italian Premier Giolotti had discovered 50 years before, that it was not necessary to buy the politicians. He bought their constituents with borrowed money and the politicians had to go along."

It should be mentioned that Giolitti was no longer in power during the March on Rome. I do not recal the detials of his resignation and transfer of power to Bonomi so I will defer to someone else. I did, hoever, add that Giolitti was no longer in power, because as it is, the article makes it sound as though Giolitti was still ruling Italy, and went on vacation while Mussolini seized power. The details of his exit from power should be mentioned. I would need more information on that, though.

Left wing liberal?

I was under the impression that the classical Liberals were not revolutionary and therefore not left wing. If Giolitti were left wing wouldn't he have been a Socialist? The article says that he was supported by the blackshirts who were murdering Socialists and that he tolerated the violence of the fascists. I don't think it is accurate to call Giolitti a liberal left winger.Pistolpierre (talk) 21:33, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
