This article reads more like a media pack for the magazine than a Wikipedia article. It definitely needs improvement --—Mr. MetalFlower · chat · what I done did do 09:25, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Changes[edit]

In the August 2009 issue of Glamour, some photos of plus-sized model Lizzi Miller were in the magazine. Once this issue hit stands, people went crazy, mostly because they were excited to see an "actual woman" in the magazine. I am new to Wikipedia, but I feel like this should be a topic in the article. How Glamour Magazine is changing for the better. I'm sure that Miller's pictures aren't the only positive change that Glamour has made, however, it is more recent, and just an example. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/32538061/ns/today-today_fashion_and_beauty Kkscarbro (talk) 19:33, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Rihanna-Glamour-September-2011-cover.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Rihanna-Glamour-September-2011-cover.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Removing references to iGoogle widget[edit]

I am removing the references to an iGoogle widget in good faith. I submit that it is irrelevant to the article as iGoogle has been discontinued since 2013, and the particular relevance to Glamour was minimal and today is basically zero. I am trying to make the article better. If you revert this, please explain why the content is currently relevant. Thanks! Openedarc (talk) 21:21, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Picture Update[edit]

The picture of Shamber Turd should be removed as she is a documented domestic abuser and liar. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.136.95.67 (talk) 18:59, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That is not a good reason to change the cover image, but there are other reasons why the image might be changed. It would be better to include a more notable cover image, such as an anniversary cover image. -- 109.77.205.71 (talk) 16:10, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Really because he just won the defamation suit so I think it's plenty of a good reason!!! 174.115.22.232 (talk) 20:51, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The cover image was arbitrarily changed by an editor who thought newer images were inherently better[1] (and made many similar misguided changes to the infobox image in other articles). The previous image was a cover from November 2016 featuring Demi Lovato,[2] of no particular significance as far as I can tell. Should any editor wish to change the cover image I would remind them of the guidelines WP:NFCC and urge them to pick an image that is particularly important and noteworthy, WP:NFCC#8 "Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the article topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding."
Images that might best meet the requirements would be anniversary images such as the cover of April 2009 cover of Glamour featuring Katie Holmes as it was a 70th Anniversary edition. The New York Times included some vintage images that might be worth including in this article.[3][4] The cover of the last regular print edition before the magazine went digital dated January 2019 is arguably noteworthy[5] and coincidentally it turns out that is the cover image featuring Amber Heard. If editors want to change the image they can, but it should be replace with a more notable image that makes this is a better encyclopedia. -- 109.77.192.199 (talk) 15:12, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What about the cover from August 1968 with Katiti Kironde? That was the first time a major women's magazine used a black cover girl and was best-selling at the time. Or there's the Taylor Swift 75th anniversary cover... 72.136.95.67 (talk) 17:08, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I tried changing it to the Taylor Swift cover but I don't know how the copyright on Wikipedia works so can someone please do it? Stopwiththenonsense (talk) 16:52, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
