"Fake Chris"[edit]

I'm fairly certain that the picture that shows Christopher Bowes isn't actually Christopher Bowes. Gloryhammer has a replacement keyboardist lookalike named Myk Barber who stands in for Bowes, because Bowes now lives in America and is often unable to make touring dates due to both his location and his involvement in Alestorm. Bowes didn't play at Rockharz Open Air last year, Mike stood in. You can tell because (i'm pretty sure?) Bowes doesn't have a nose piercing, his eyes are rounder and more sunken, and his hair is curlier/kinkier. Not sure what to do about this fact or how to include Myk in the page, but I added him as a touring musician, and I also think that the entire lineup pictures should be replaced for consistency, or clarify that Bowes isn't the one in the picture. I Highly Doubt A Retired U.S Four-Star General Is a Member of a Symphonic Power Metal Band[edit]

Name says it all, I highly doubt James Cartwright, 33-year old Welsh bassist and backup vocalist for Gloryhammer moonlights in his spare time as James Cartwright, 70-year old retired four-star general from Illinois, as the hyperlink in the "Members" section would seem to indicate. Please fix ASAP.

Scottish or English[edit]

From what I have seen, there are back-and-forth editing on if the band is either English (British, but in Wikipedia standards, English) or Scottish. I have done a bit of looking into where the members are from, and it appears that the members prior to the lineup change for the new lead vocalist are all from England, so it does not make any sense to call it a Scottish band if the members are from England. I would like to hear opinions and arguments on this, to see if we can come to a consensus on if the band can be one of the two mentioned. HorrorLover555 (talk) 16:33, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just going to go ahead and add a source, showing that Bowes is from England. It's one source, but it is better than nothing.
  • "Christopher Alexander Bowes". Metal Storm. born June 23, 1986 in Gravesend, United Kingdom
I'll leave this here. The rest, I'll collect on later. HorrorLover555 (talk) 23:31, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The metal storm page for Christopher bowes cites wikipedia as its source for Bowes being from Gravesend. https://metalstorm.net/bands/bandmember.php?member_id=11732 But it links to the article for Alestorm, which doesn't actually contain the exercepted text claiming that Bowes is from Gravesend. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alestorm. So, we can't confirm where he is from based on that. Sewblon (talk) 03:07, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what you mean with Metal Storm using Wikipedia as its source? If any, debate on if the band is English or Scottish is always open if the source don't work out. I would be happy to share opinions and like I mentioned, to see if we can work together to come to a consensus on that matter. HorrorLover555 (talk) 06:59, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, let's clear this up right now: British is not the same as English in the slightest. England is a country within the island of Great Britain, as are Scotland and Wales. You add Northern Island and you get the United Kingdom. (Our geopolitics is very confusing, even for us.)
Second, even if Bowes was born in Gravesend, does that preclude him from being Scottish? I have a friend born in Germany who is very clearly English. Maybe Bowes' folks were on holiday or working there and he happened to pop out.
Thirdly, literally every Gloryhammer album refers to Dundee and other Scottish towns and cities. If we're not going to say they're Scottish because obvious isn't evidence, can we at least call them British? Morogth (talk) 18:20, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You raise a good point, even if the geopolitics are confusing. I think we can call it British, although there will be others who will object to the band being called British. If it gets to that point again, I wouldn't object to re-opening this discussion, to see what everyone's preferences are on the band's origins. HorrorLover555 (talk) 19:18, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I mean that the personal information section on Metal Storm's page on Christopher Alexander Bows says, explicitly, that they got the information from Wikipedia and links to the Wikipedia article on Alestorm, which does not contain any information on the birth place of Christopher Alexander Bowes. I can't be any more clear than that. Sewblon (talk) 00:55, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it was worth a try in trying to use that source, but for now until more sources come out that do not take from Wikipedia - I think we can settle on just calling the band British, as by the point made by Morogth. With that, if there are no objections or other comments, I think we can close this discussion. HorrorLover555 (talk) 01:56, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony Trimming[edit]

Why does the list of former members include Anthony Trimming? I can't find any evidence that he was ever affiliated with the band. Glory Hammer isn't listed as one of his current for former projects on the metal archives. https://www.metal-archives.com/artists/Anthony_'Trim'_Trimming/466272 Sewblon (talk) 01:51, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. Chris Bowes confirmed that Anthony Trimming was the first vocalist on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/Gloryhammer/comments/stvzue/something_about_tom/ Sewblon (talk) 03:02, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy / Allegations[edit]

At the same time as the controversy around racist and misogynist comments arose allegations of domestic violence against bassist James Cartwright also surfaced. These allegates were dealt with in the same statement by the band - where they denied the abuse took place. It seems odd that the note regarding these allegations being made (not stating they were true - just stating they were made) is regularly removed. The justification given by the editor is they were 'proven false'. They were not. The band denied they happened - but that does not prove them false. It appears someone doesn't want the fact they were made to be recorded, despite the band's own statement containing a denial of them. If the article is meant to be neutral then surely we cannot remove the faxt an allegation was made purely because the person accused denied it. 85.255.237.67 (talk) 18:21, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

update members[edit]

To those who have the skill to edit the page, the keyboardist is no longer Christopher Bowes, but Michael Barber.

This article cites the metal archives, I don't how what credit theses sources have here.

He plays live for them since 2016 in replacement, and since 2019 he's gradually more invested in the band.

I am not sure if a Fandom Wiki site is a reliable source, as Wikipedia is usually based on published sources. HorrorLover555 (talk) 14:31, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
