How long has there been a Gnaw Bone, Indiana and how was the name created[edit]

The information that says the name was created during the 1930s is absolutely incorrect. I found articles on newspapers.com that used the name, starting in 1879. It was apparently in general use at that time, so we don't know how early the name was created.
