Scarce/rare?[edit]

Is there a difference between scarce and rare? Ericoides (talk) 21:24, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As I understand it "nationally scarce" and "nationally rare" are both official designations given by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee and Natural England (or other national body), where rare species are less common that scarce species.
