Terms[edit]

The spelling of "Wanyamnwezi" needs to be checked and the meaning of the term "Ugogo" needs to be explained. Badagnani 04:17, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Wa-", "U-" and "Ki-" are prefixes that appear frequently in Wikipedia articles of Tanzanian ethnic groups. With this understanding, "Wanyamwezi" (so-spelled) appears to be a collective term for the Nyamwezi (also "Wagogo"); "Ugogo" would mean the Gogo homeland (also "Uhehe"); and, for example, "Kiswahili" would mean the Swahili language. I'm no expert on Bantu languages, so correct me if I'm wrong. --Liveste 06:10, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Burton reference[edit]

The page was directing to Richard Burton the actor, not the explorer. I fixed this, but I was wondering, is there a way to just say Richard Burton but have it direct to the right person? I'm not that knowledgeable about wikis and the simplest way I knew was to use the name on the explorer's page, Richard Francis Burton, but I'm guessing there's still a way to say Richard Burton and have it go to the right place. Citations needed![edit]

This article is extreme in the lack of citations. I expect that the data is correct, but lack of references is a serious problem. There is much information about their past, but the only information about the present era is a long list of important people. I hope that some knowledgeable person will write more about the last few decades up to the present, citing reliable sources. The topic is important.
