The language of the article seems pretty anti-golden handcuffs, includes charged language and some of wikipedia's words to watch. The substance of the discussion seems biased to me, and might should include more of the theories for why people agree to such options and what the positive consequences might be (stability, lower recruiting costs get passed on to consumers, stuff like that).
