Title[edit]

This can be a good article, especially if the historical context of the Canadiens-Nordiques rivalry is added. Quick question though - I don't believe this article is at the proper title. I can't really find much evidence of this being known as the "Good Friday Massacre". Almost every source refers to it as the "Good Friday Brawl". Is there a reason to leave the article at this title? Hmm, well it is a term of reference mostly in english Canada, not in francophone quebec. It may just be colloquially used. But I googled searched; Good Friday Massacre and hockey and got a significant number of hits. Perhaps there is a user who might know more about this incident? It was after all 25 years ago. Btw you can watch the whole fight on youtube, I found it somewhere; Can this be referenced? Outback the koala (talk) 04:03, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There are far, far more hits for "Good Friday Brawl" though, and being the English Wikipedia, the more prevalent name in English should be used. As far as referencing the YouTube video goes, I doubt it would stand. From Wikipedia's view, the YouTube videos would be considered a copyvio, so wouldn't pass muster as an external link. I've got a few books that reference the brawl though, so there are decent references around. Resolute 05:58, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have looked up several hockey historical books in my house. Of those that say anything about it, none refer to it as a brawl, half refer to it as a massacre, while about the other half refer to it as a battle, or huge fight, or melee. It could be called a brawl by people nowadays, as the term "Bench clearing brawl" has become more popular in the last 10 years. My books aren't the newest.. Time left in period[edit]

Please watch the video, or any video of the game. The very 1st thing, 1st thing you hear is the siren going off symbolizing the end of the period. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veX55rLYAgQ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Peacekeeper 1234 (talkcontribs) 18:08, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, and added a cite for it. Resolute 14:55, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
