Gothic improvement drive?[edit]

Hello. Gothic related articles have been neglected for a while, so I figure it's time to do something about that! Making a taskforce at the VG Project is probably too much, but I think it would be nice if some of the interested editors would gather in a single place, so we could decide on a course of action; I will be posting a link to this page to several people who might be interested (based on their previous contributions to Gothic articles).

I've created this here to gauge interest, and because I feel Gothic 2 should be worked on first, as it's somewhat more influential than the other games and will probably have more than enough sources; of course, I'm open to suggestions. So far, I've created a "Gothic series" template to replace the annoying "Other releases in series" sections from all the articles.

So, in general, the idea is to see who is interested, what they can do, and what should be worked on (first). --VPeric (talk) 19:37, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea. Yes, probably Gothic II is best to begin with. I will not be able to help for a another couple of days, but after that I will try to contribute as much as possible. BTW I also recommend you to post a message on the World of Gothic forums — you might catch the interest of a few people. Also try to post a message on the German forums of WoG (you can post in English) — people there are A LOT more responsive than on the English side. Diego_pmc Talk 21:15, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"There is almost no loading time"[edit]

Whoever wrote this did not consider two things: first of all the review that claims so was written in 2006, four years after the game's initial release, when the usual hardware was much more powerful. Secondly the reviewer only refers to the fact that the game will rarely show you a loading screen once you're "ingame" - it doesn't change the fact though that the initial startup loading time as well as the time it takes to generate or load a save game is pretty high for a game this old. Currently the article makes the impression that the game has some very advanced technology that almost eliminates the need of pre-loading content but this is definitely not the case. Needs to be changed. --178.42.68.109 (talk) 07:43, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
