I believe the Graham Lake who is subject of this article is the same Graham J. Lake who is also a noted (winner of the Charles Goodyear Medal) scientist in the field of elastomer physics. Lake spent many years at the MRPRA, and later at the University of East London. I have been trying to find a source to cite to formally make the association in this article, but have been unable to find one, and would appreciate help on this.

The earliest scientific paper I find for Dr. Lake is

Lake, G. J., Lindley, P. B., & Thomas, A. G. (1963). High vacuum sliding seal. Journal of Scientific Instruments, 40(1), 40.

A full account of his later opus is found in

Lake, G. J. (2003). Fracture mechanics and its application to failure in rubber articles. Rubber chemistry and technology, 76(3), 567-591.
