Reference Links[edit]

There are duplicate links for two of the same Grand Bahama websites. One of them has replaced our links. Http://grand-bahamas.com Joelle (JoelleH) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.58.6.164 (talk) 01:35, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Grand Bahama Island photo.[edit]

You guys don't make it all that easy to correct mistakes ... or maybe it's dumb old me. The satellite picture of Grand Bahama, on the main 'Grand Bahama' page, is upside down, i.e. the north side of the island points to the south, (or bottom of the page). The south side of the island points to the north, (or top of the page). The picture needs to be rotated through 180 degrees, in other words. Please could someone correct this? Thank you. Tim Hendley,

The caption does say that the photo (taken from space) is looking to the southwest. While it would be technically possible to rotate the image 180° and re-upload it to Commons, that would, in some sense, misrepresent the image. Personally, I think it is fine as is, as long as the caption makes its orientation clear. - Donald Albury 16:47, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Added information[edit]

I added more information about Grand Bahama. I added a small detail to the lead section, as well as added new sections on the climate and wildlife of the island. I also added more to the economy section because all It talked about before was the tourism, but there are other things that contribute to the economy. Large-scale deforestation[edit]

What is the background of the grid of roads cutting through the forests of near the half of the island? Do they plan to built suburban settlements there (which would more than double the inhabitated area)? I, for one, do not know. If someone finds reliable sources about the clearances, they can add information about the clearances to the article, citing those sources. Donald Albury 16:10, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
