Merger Proposal[edit]

While I support the idea, I think it was done in a wrong way - not by creating a new article and redirecting the old one - that's not merging. It should be done like in Central Coast Rays to North Harbour Rays case - moving the article and then add some info. Now all history and significant contributions from other people are lost (eg. squad from 2007). Miodzio3 (talk) 08:23, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

All the old info is retained in the old page history which you can get to here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Western_Sydney_Rams&redirect=no if you wish to edit further. Personally don't think the entire squad from every year is entirely relevant,and takes up a tremendous amount of page space. However if formatted properly it could work. You're missing the point - if it's linear enough (as you wrote), the article should be moved from old name to new, and then you could change it as you like. Using the same logic, should we in 2012 create new article The Rugby Championship then delete content of Tri Nations and change it into redirect? Miodzio3 (talk) 08:20, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

– A move over redirect. This rugby team was originally called the Western Sydney Rams in 2007, but was renamed and the page moved to Greater Sydney Rams in 2014.
