I feel having the lists on the see also section helps put the music and time of release of the album in context. You can see what was popular, what was in charts and what other albums were released around this time. I feel its a relatively uncontroversial addition to have this in a see also section. The See also section linking to the List of 2014 albums duplicates the category link . The List of 2014 albums does not show popularity, or charts. It does show what other albums were released around the same time, but that is fairly vague. The category link provides a list of albums released in the same year, which is a bit broader than monthly or weekly but for a quick information brushstroke provides almost the same information.
