Name[edit]

In the past, some of my article translations on modern Greek personalities have been moved to new namespaces based on transcription, not transliteration of their names – rightly so, in all previous cases. But I would submit that Gregorios Bernardakis is a special case, because he published in English and German using a mixed transliteral/transcriptional form of his name, and that seems to be how is most commonly known in those languages, and is still referred to in them. I have added notes that his native Greek name is transcribed Grigorios N. Vernardakis and also a note on his Neolatin style Gregorius N. Bernardakis under which he also published, but I think that the namespace should stay Gregorios Bernardakis since that is how he is most commonly known in English, and the other forms should be re-directs.--Jpbrenna (talk) 22:04, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. The system is not rigid, there can always be case-by-case exceptions such as this one. Constantine 22:14, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
