Proper names of degrees (Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Arts, etc.) are capitalized, but fields of study are not. ("He had a Master of Arts in basket weaving.") The term "creative writing" is not capitalized in dictionaries; it is simply not a proper name. You may see an academic field capitalized in a university's syllabus, but this is an encyclopedia; unlike universities, we don't capitalize nearly every noun, because we're not into self-aggrandizement.
