Curious why you reverted my edit. I make wine, and grow Grenache in N. California. The article, before my edit, overstated the ripening profile of Grenache. Grenache typically ripens before Counoise and Mourvèdre, but after Syrah. It ripens more or less in the middle of the red grape cycles. I think the edit puts a better perspective on the ripening profile of Grenache. 67.187.164.14 (talk) 19:18, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Since there seems to be no response, I'll take a crack at this. My only guess is the editor disagreed with the use of "relatively" and without any citation. I saw that you added a link to an article on your winery's blog. That was probably removed because of suspected attempt to point readers to your company's website. Both removals are unfortunate. A simple look at your edit record shows that is not the case, otherwise you would have been riddling wikipedia articles with more links. Both removals are unfortunate. Sardinia/Cannonau

The article currently states that, "The grape is known as Cannonau in Sardinia, where it is claimed that it originated there and spread to other Mediterranean lands under Aragon rule". However the earlier section dismisses this, stating, "Grenache or Garnacha (as it is known in Spain) most likely originated in the region of Aragon in northern Spain, according to ampelographical evidence".

There is modern evidence - more modern than the sources? - that I think suggests that Cannonau is not an import of Grenache, i.e. that they've found seeds on Sardinia from 4,000 years before Spanish involvement. I'm not qualified to comment on the accuracy of this but I think the article needs some review. --94.3.92.199 (talk) 09:59, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

Good article! The author uses the term "principle" in the sense of "main" as in "principle wine regions" when it should be "principal" as in "principal wine regions". This is unfortunately a very commo mistake as both terms are pronounced almost or the same! However a "principle" is a fundamental truth or proposition whereas "principal" menas first in order of importance. Quite a difference. prof.dr. Oscar Estévez-Uscanga p.s.
