  • I will hopefully be able to get to this later today (UTC-wise) :) 𓃦LunaEatsTuna (💬) 04:01, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Told ya I would get to this today! Thanks for the fun read, I found this very fascinating. I left some comments below and will place this article on hold for improvements for a period of one week, although I doubt we will need that long :3. 𓃦LunaEatsTuna (💬) 23:40, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for the review, @LunaEatsTuna! This is all eminently doable, and I'll take a crack at it tomorrow! Brian (talk) 00:40, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers for taking these, Bdhamilton!

Prose[edit]

  • I would remove the lone citation in the lead.  Done
  • The lead says that the sculpture was erected in Judiciary Square, but the third paragraph in History says near Judiciary Square.  Done
  • Is it possible to add a couple of more sentences to the second (history) paragraph in the lead? Perhaps summarise some of the background info prior to its 1997 construction.  Done
  • "The sculpture took three years and cost $125,000 to complete." > "The sculpture took three years to complete at a cost of $125,000." sounds better IMO.  Done
  • "early 2011" – sources say January 2011; it would be more helpful to readers to note this.  Done
  • "police evidence-control facility." perhaps change this to "police evidence management facility"?  Done
  • "where another of her notable sculptures" > "where another of Esther's sculptures" – also removing notable, which is a subjective word.  Done
  • Recommend changing "from 1965–1980" to "between 1965 and 1980" for formality reasons (these darn GAs, huh?)  Done
  • "no definite plans have been made to move it again." this line needs to be cited; does ref 7 not say this?  Done: Removed claim, since I can't find it clearly expressed in any source.
  • "Esther Augsburger" – just "Esther" is fine here; she has been referred to numerous times prior throughout the article.  Done
  • Add WP:ALT text to the image.  Done

Refs[edit]

Spot check on refs 1, 7, 12 and 18 show no concerns—they all support the article's content. I had access to ref 18 via a preview on Google Books.

  • Small concern with ref 10: in "Much of her work, like Guns into Plowshares, attests to traditional Mennonite values, especially a commitment to service and nonviolence," I do not seem to see a mention in said source of nonviolence anywhere?  Done: I double checked the article, and I'm comfortable that the claim is supported. The word "nonviolence" is not used, but it does say that the message is peace and laying down weapons. If you think "peace" or "peacemaking" is better, that's an easy enough change!
  • Oh! That was my bad, I see it now!
