Merge with Christine Jessop?[edit]

I'd like to informally suggest the idea that it might make sense to merge the Christine Jessop article into this one, or vice versa — with a redirect, of course, so that either name would lead to the same content. Since the Jessop murder remains unsolved, and it can arguably be said that the crime (aside from being notable in and of itself because of the forensics issues and its notoriety in Canada) is the only thing generating any notability for either Jessop or Morin, it seems to me that it would make more sense to combine the material on both individuals into a single article. I know the idea of deleting this article was discussed (and rejected) several years ago, but perhaps people's feelings about the idea have changed in the meantime. Comments? Convicted categories[edit]

The addition of convicted categories done here seems to be incorrect. He was convicted, but the conviction was overturned on appeal and acquittal entered. Given this is a WP:BLP, I'm reverting the categories but please discuss if I am mistaken about how this categorisation should work. -- Whpq (talk) 00:05, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I added the categories. I'm aware the convictions were overturned, but it's nonetheless factually accurate to say he was convicted of murder in the first place, so I thought there shouldn't be any problem with adding them. I've seen that done on other articles about overturned convictions, e.g. Rolando Cruz case. I won't revert, but given the confusion here it might be best to take this to the BLP noticeboard (unless there's a specific policy on the matter somewhere that I've missed). Just FWIW, I agree that adding these categories was problematical, and I had been seriously considering removing them myself before Whpq did so. The category name implies that those placed in the category are guilty of whatever they were charged with, and provide no context. I can agree that technically they were convicted for some period of time but the final result of the legal process was an acquittal. If this category is being applied to other cases of wrongful conviction, then perhaps it would be a good idea to to take it to the notice board as some more visibility and discussion would be good. -- Whpq (talk) 10:19, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion about incarceration?[edit]

This page says Morin was held in general population throughout his time in prison. However, this page says he was held at the Special Handling Unit for at least some time. These can't both be correct, though I don't know which one is wrong. Jaydub99 (talk) 17:32, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
