name correction / page move[edit]

Although this article has cited Lux's name as "Gwen Creighton Lux" for quite a while, which has subsequently been copied into other print sources, that middle name appears to be incorrect. Her original surname was Wickerts. She married Thomas Creighton on December 23, 1959, after her first marriage to Lux. Creighton's 1984 NYT obituary calls her what you would expect: "Gwen Lux Creighton". I can't find a single source before about 2000 that calls her "Gwen Creighton Lux". In any case she was most often called simply "Gwen Lux", and I believe that's the best article name. --Lockley (talk) 06:58, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am a little concerned[edit]

about the opening sentence, " Gwen Lux, 1908–1987) was among America’s pioneer women sculptors (McBrien 2004)" . Amerca's pioneer sculptors were about a century before Ms Lux appeared. However since it is footnoted I am reluctant to change it. Perhaps someone with access to the source could qualify it with "one of America's pioneer "abstract" sculptors or something?
