Reliable sources[edit]
I have included some pieces of information from The Gun Plot, a private website, for want of better sources. I have no reason to doubt its correctness, as some of the information which I found there has been confirmed through another source, which I have now used in its place. However, as it is a private individual's website, it fails WP:RS. Any editor coming across better sourced information should replace the reference cited. Ohconfucius 03:49, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Commodore-in-Charge, Hong Kong[edit]
Naval establishments were under the administration of the Commodore-in-Charge, Hong Kong from 1866 and this base from 1897 who reported C-in-C China Station till 1941 when that station was merged with the East Indies Station to form the Eastern Fleet. The commodore Hong Kong then reported to first Commander-in-Chief, Eastern Fleet then the Commander-in-Chief, East Indies Fleet and finally Commander-in-Chief, Far East Fleet these are all sourced on their respective pages, The Commander British Forces in Hong Kong was a unified command appointment in which the commodore probably reported after 1971 after the Far East Fleet was abolished and its forces merged with the Western Fleet to create a single fleet under the command of the Commander-in-Chief Fleet. The article is written from a Royal Navy perspective and not a joint command.
