4G Debate[edit]

As I read in a change made by an anonymous user, the user changed 4G to 3G and claimed that LTE is a true 4G system. That's fine and all, but on a technicality, LTE is considered a 3GPP standard which doesn't make it 4G....at all. LTE-Advanced is considered 4G because it meets the standards, but the only phone using that standard is tech demonstrator from provider NTT DoCoMo Japan.

Stating the above is not the point I'm trying to make. The point I'm trying to make is HSPA+, WiMax, and LTE, are all 3G standards. They may have come close to 4G, but they didn't make the cut. It is what it is, and we should leave it out of the picture when we do make a change regarding that standard. This is just a newer build on an already existing 3G system. What the companies consider as 4G is for another article. Not the phones themselves. --Ryanyomomma (talk) 06:07, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Variant?[edit]

Why does the line saying that the Inspire "is a variant of the Desire HD" need a citation? It looks physically identical with the exception of a minor difference in the text on the back, the hardware specifications are all identical with the exception of the internal storage. I think it's blatantly obvious that one phone is a variant of the other, and since the Desire HD came out first, it makes sense to say the Inspire 4G is a variant of the Desire HD. 120.156.136.122 (talk) 04:25, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How one would even provide a proper citation for this? Various internal components identify the Inspire as a Desire HD. For example, both the default Bluetooth name and the EXIF information on pictures taken by the camera are "Desire HD". One would assume that would be sufficient for most purposes to establish the relationship. 32.150.233.150 (talk) 17:36, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
