Which SUNY campus did he get his B.A. from? His official web site is equally terse. --Nelson Ricardo 19:47, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

The elections sections are too long in comparison with the tenure sections. More balancing of these is needed, --96.250.126.9 (talk) 16:06, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

Progressive critics of Jeffries

Here's an article from Common Dreams summarizing views of the progressive critics of Jeffries.

Endorsements section

This seems like a list of trivia that was temporarily relevant, but no longer really is. I am inclined to simply cut it, and if anyone wants to add a few tidbits back in other chronological sections of the article, that could make sense. Thoughts? Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:58, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

Having looked at it a bit yesterday, I am sure it can be cut down. Maybe we keep his 2007 endorsement of Obama, but the others seem more run of the mill. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:10, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

Is it right to call Jeffries Minority Leader?

The election for Speaker hasn't finished yet, and the Majority and Minority aren't officially chosen until after the election for Speaker. MacDoesWiki (talk) 04:54, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

The Democrats are in the minority regardless of the election for Speaker. The 2022 House elections decided that.  Ved havet 🌊 (talk 17:52, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
Given that we don't know how this will play out, I think he's just the "Democratic leader". He could become speaker! Crazier things have happened. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:01, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
Jeffries is, and, unless he become Speaker (an extremely remote possibility at best), will remain the House Minority Leader. Drdpw (talk) 18:27, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
Do sources call him "minority leader"? CNN says he is "poised to become", but WP:CRYSTAL applies. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:36, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
Some are. Drdpw (talk) 18:39, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
Jeffries will most certainly lead the minority party once the prolonged speaker election concludes (unless he become Speaker, an extremely remote possibility at best). But he will not officially become the House Minority Leader until the House is organized. Right now he is only Minority Leader Designate. Drdpw (talk) 18:39, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
The Democrats elected Jeffries to be their leader in the House & since the Democrats are the minority party in 118th US Congress? That makes Jeffries the "House Minority Leader". If he (unlikely) gets elected Speaker? then his brief tenure as House Minority Leader will end. GoodDay (talk) 19:38, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

Note - The House doesn't elect the party floor leaders, whips, etc. It's the parties among themselves that chose their own floor leaders, whips etc. GoodDay (talk) 19:54, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
