Which fish?[edit]

In the Culture section:

On a similar note, Hakodate's city fish is the squid.

In the See also section:

The fish of Hakodate is the ika, Japanese for cuttlefish.

Which one is it? And can't it be added to the infobox? (I don't know what the rules are, but it wouldn't look out of place under 'Tree - Flower - Bird') Ninja neko 11:33, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Squid" & "cuttlefish" are almost synonyms, more so in Japanese than in English. Boneyard90 (talk) 15:00, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1934 Fire[edit]

One source is the Japan Times Online article http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/fl20090315ec.html but I have no feeling for the reliability of this source.131.81.200.92 (talk) 19:43, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

June, 2019: Economy?[edit]

Presumably, Hakodate has an economy. Perhaps some material thereon should be added to the largely empty "Economy" section of the article. Anyone?--Quisqualis (talk) 05:37, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Is it time to remove a template?[edit]

There's a template above the "Culture and landmarks" section which was in place as there was no sources cited. However, there's now some sources on it and I believe it now warrants the removal of the template.--SlackingViceroy (talk) 22:04, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong image used in montage[edit]

The central image in the current montage (captioned Night View from Mount Hakodate) is actually a view of Chiba, across the bay from Tokyo, so... not even on Hokkaido. Its source is used in several other places and dates back to 2009, when its author (who doesn’t seem to have been active since 2015) uploaded it as “own work”. 2015 is also when someone marked the image “as a possible copyright violation”. (See User_talk:Mosiase~commonswiki) What should be done in such a case? 74.58.147.69 (talk) 20:28, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. It seems to have been fixed now. つがる Talk to つがる:) 🍁 02:46, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
