Hangu District (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) → Hangu District, Pakistan – Whilst the current title is technically correct, it is longer than necessary (WP:PRECISE). There is only one "Hangu District" in Pakistan and the only other similarly-named article refers to a former district in Tianjin municipality in PR China. Uninformed readers are more likely to know which country each district is than which province/municipality. Green Giant (talk) 15:15, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I just moved the article to Hangu District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before I noticed your move request. I think we agree that comma is preferred over parenthetical disambiguation, per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names)#Disambiguation:
- With the names of cities, towns, villages and other settlements, as well as administrative divisions, the tag is normally preceded by a comma, as in Hel, Poland, and Polk County, Tennessee. Any specific national convention takes precedence though.

language map[edit]

Because there is no source mentioned for language map i removed the language map picture please do not undo it. the information of map is wrong and misleading and if u can please provide a source for map please restore it again other wise i am going to delete it once again because it is wrong — Preceding unsigned comment added by 175.106.50.21 (talk) 20:05, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The source for the map is a file on Commons. Another editor has again reverted the deletion. Instead of deleting the map again, continue the discussion you started here. Expand your comments, for example, by pointing out details of exactly where you believe the map to be inaccurate and cite sources of your own. Thanks for your involvement in improving Wikipedia. Languages of Khyber-Puhktunkhwa (Map)[edit]

Map being used in various articles pertaining to languages of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa is incorrect and biased. It is showing tank as Seraiki speaking which is incorrect as majority of people in Tank speak Pashto. It is showing Karak as Hindko speaking while we know that almost 99% of the population of Karak is Pashto speaking Khattak. It is showing battagram as hindko speaking while we all know that most of the people in Battagram speak Pashto. Similarly, it is showing Shangla as hindko speaking, which is incorrect as most of the people their also speak Pashto. Finally, it is showing Toorghar district as Hindko speaking while we know most of the people their also speak Pashto. I think all this show biasness or incompetence on the part of the person who included that Map. Furthermore, it should also be noted that the map fails to show that most of the people on western side of Mansehra and Haripur speak Pashto, while most on western side of D.I.Khan also speak Pashto. I feel that the Map has grossly exaggerated the number of speakers of other languages.Tigerkhan007 (talk) 17:23, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried to talk about the incorrect map being used with everyone, but no one has been able to provide any rationale on why the districts such as Battagram, toorghar, Shangla, Buner, Tank, Karak, etc are shown as Hindko and saraiki speaking when the text states that most of the population their speaks pashto. And also this is a matter of general knowledge that most of the population in the above mentioned districts speaks pashto. Moroever, due to this incorrect and biased map there is a contraditcion between the text and the map being used on the same articale. Therefore, i have replaced this incorrect map with a more accurate one. This will not only make the page more representative of the reallity but will also make wikipedia more reliable.
