Town Namesake?[edit]

I have been unable to find any references to the namesake of the town. I know it should be named for a member of the House of Hanover, the kings who had recently come to power in Great Britain at the time of incorporation. However, I cannot say for sure which of the Georges it should be. As the date is near to the date of George I's death, it could be either.
