Mingo County[edit]

Controverse[edit]

The accounts of Bandholtz are controversed. This happens. But: "According to his own accounts, he is said to have prevented the arresting of Hungarian PM István Friedrich by the Romanians." - is a quite mysterious account. The reason of the Romanian intervention was to fight against Bela Kun and the sovjetization plans. The very Wiki makes clear that Istvan Friederich had been an enemy of Kun, a counterrevolutionary and arrested by the same Kun that the Romanian and Serb troups were fighting against. There seems to be a problem in understanding the motivation in that arests. Since the problem emergind within a minute by comparing two Wiki files - this make a clear point against the credibility of Bandholtz's accounts. Unless much more explanations are brought in support of this quite surprizing claim. Did he not mistake Kun with Romanians? Or even worse, is it not that the Kunist were putting various actions of disinformation in scene, in order to difamate their enemy which they could not fight against militarily? This is precisely what is known about those events from other sources! The credibility of Bandholtz, and most of all his preparation to withstand disinformation of the kind sovjets already were practicing (documented), requires some argumentation - or questions! Well, if the only reason of the Romanian intervention would be to fight against Béla Kun and the sovjetization plans, than they should stop and return in 1 August when Kun resigned, but they wouldn't and made and illegal occupation of Hungary. You can be sure Bandholtz did not mistake anything, he is one of the few who tried to care with Hungary as an equal party and not let to flourish the seriosly imbalanced Entente policy that would let the "winners" to take and get everything without any limits. Just check the memoirs Dr. Alexandru Vaida-Voevod, also regarding Bratianu, what was they real plan thaat is not even hidden on the other wiki pages regarding the Hungarian-Romanian War 1919. The Romanian leadership continously misinformed the Entente about the situation and they also enlonged they withdrawal making reference on fake reasons, only they left after Lloyd George put some pressure on the right and recognition of Bessarabia's join to the Kingdom of Romania. Also you can be sure Bandholtz did not supported anything connected to Communism.(KIENGIR (talk) 14:01, 30 April 2014 (UTC))[reply]
