I believe he's also "Dr. Howll", noted radio preacher for the Church of the SubGenius.

Edgar nomination[edit]

Removed comment that "The Smoker from the Shadows" was nominated for an Edgar Award. According to Margery Flax, Administrative Director of the Mystery Writers of America, "He is not listed in our database so he might be confusing having his work submitted for consideration with actually being nominated for the award."
