Untitled[edit]

The wording of the article on Harvey needs to be done in such a way that it is recognized that people not only in the relatively small village of Harvey Station consider themselves to be from Harvey but also those from the unincorporated area to the south, which has the larger population and makes up the original Harvey Settlement. The village, only officially incorporated in 1969, is also still officially known as Harvey Station, despite there being no train service to the village since the early 1980's.

Harvey or "Harvey Station" was officially incorporated as the Village of Harvey by an act of the Provincial Legislature under Chapter M-22 of the Municipalities Act on November 9, 1966. Harvey Station is the unofficial designation often used incorrectly in publications such as the telephone directory. The explanation from NB Tel was they used Harvey Station to distinguish the Village of Harvey from Harvey, Albert County.

Harvey, Albert County is a parish, not a municipality. Census 2006 for the Parish of Harvey 424; the incorporated municipality located in the Parish is Riverside/Albert, pop. 320. Riverside and Albert, two separate communities were incorporated as a single municipality by the NB. Legislature in 1966. Icnorth (talk) 00:05, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Official Name[edit]

This page should be moved to some form of Harvey, New Brunswick, as that's the official name, not Harvey Station.G. Timothy Walton (talk) 19:23, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
