I understand the redirect to 'tuffet'; what I don't understand is whether there is an alternate meaning for the word. For instance, just south of the main body of Queens, NY near JFK Airport are land masses that in Google Earth are referred as 'hassocks' (look like 'islands' to me but hey, what do I know...I'm no sophisticate).
