Maybe the page "Have a Little Faith in Me" should be about the song in general and this content should move to a page called "Have a Little Faith in Me (Mandy Moore)"?

Yes, and maybe more focused on the song itself, since this is one of John Hiatt's most-often covered songs. Mandy Moore's version has been a charting hit, but it's certainly not the most noteworthy. 198.1 79.227.59 14:36, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Natsthename[reply]

If there's a vote, I agree MMetro 11:09, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I also agree. I've taken a stab at condensing it (although I haven't actually removed any of the mandy moore content). I've also added a bit about the background of the song taken directly from an interview John Hiatt did that was featured on a Dutch show. I've only been able to find the youtube video as a reference source so far though. I'll change it if I can find the original. TehQ (talk) 09:49, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Would love to know which cover John Hiatt prefers - has he ever been interviewed about it?

added infobox song and used info from the article to fill it in. Genre and label was taken from http://www.discogs.com/John-Hiatt-Have-A-Little-Faith-In-Me/release/424547 Not sure if this is completly like it should. Just started to edit pages. So every comment to help in improve is welcome. STrek77 (talk) 10:50, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removing the Mandy Moore part. This is such an important, iconic song. Mandy should be one line at most. Her version was insignificant. JSFarman (talk) 17:26, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Aspects, your edit summary in adding the Mandy Moore content back to this article is is not accurate. ("Add Mandy Moore subsection back, since it is a notable cover version and without it, the song would not be notable enough to have an article.") I'll add refs when I have more time, but if you search, you will discover that this is an important song that very easily meets notability. (Just to illustrate: There are more than 40 cover versions, from (Joe Cocker, Bon Jovi and Willie Nelson among many, many others, and it has appeared on dozens of film and tv soundtracks, over decades, from Dawson's Creek in the 80s to The Office to the TV series Nashville a couple of years ago.)
In addition, there's a consensus here on the talk page. You should create an article on the Mandy Moore cover if you feel that it warrants a stand alone article. JSFarman (talk) 15:06, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
When this discussion started, this is what the article looked like, [1], and it was only about the Mandy Moore cover version. You have misread the consensus here, it found that the article should mostly be about the song while including Mandy Moore's cover version. Per WP:SONGCOVER, song covers do not get their own article, the information needs to be in the song article, so the cover version having its own article is not an option. A cover version of the song that would be notable enough to have its own article, generally has its own section in song articles on Wikipedia and this falls in line with WP:NSONGS. More information could be added about the song itself, since the article has had a more citations needed template for eleven years. Altogether, as there is no consensus for the section removal and per WP:BRD, I have added the section back into the article. Aspects (talk) 02:38, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, Aspects, I stand corrected. I didn't read WP:SONGCOVER. (I just looked at the article for "Hallelujah" and am now fully schooled in the related guidelines.) I will add other notable versions of "Have a Little Faith in Me" when I have a chance. JSFarman (talk) 21:06, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
