An issue that needs to be addressed in this article -- which I haven't gotten to including -- is that Thierry Ganchou has questioned Helena's existence. The only historical source that mentions her existence is Theodore Spandounes's genealogy, written about 100 years afterwards. He offers a number of other reasons to doubt her existence. And before I found Ganchou's article, I found it remarkably difficult to fit all of David's children into the brief period of his marriage to Maria of Gothia, so I'll admit I'm inclined to accept Ganchou's conclusions. -- llywrch (talk) 19:11, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
