Assessment Report[edit]

  1. Article needs to be massively expanded using Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements as a guide.
  2. It should make use of sections, using Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements as a guide.
  3. Photos need to be added.
  4. References and Citations are crucial for wikipedia, and so these must be added as the article is expanded. Make sure that as many as possible are "in-line" citations.(See WP:References, WP:V, and WP:CITE for guidance.)

  1. This article generally needs to be better organised. It doesn't really 'flow' and information seems to be all over the place, with headings in bold etc when they shouldn't be there anyway. Bus/Rail are sub headings so do not need to be so large, specifically when the heading 'Transport' is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.13.78.10 (talk) 19:38, 17 May 2008 (UTC) This is covered by WP:UKCITIES which is mentined above. Additionally, the size of the headings, etc is fixed and present in all wikipedia articles, and so is not an issue that can be dealt with in this forum. I suggest taking it to WP:MOS's talk page is it is felt it is a major issue.  DDStretch  (talk) 23:59, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Landmarks: Helsby Hill[edit]

Whilst well written, most of this section resembles a guidebook for climbers and hikers, is unreferenced and could be considered WP:OR. Have added the relevant tag. To remain part of an encyclopaedic article, this section needs verifying or rewriting. Snowy 1973 (talk) 13:57, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. This has been tagged for over a year now, and still no references added, so I'm going to start removing some of the uncited statements.Tubefurnace (talk) 21:02, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hapsford not Helsby[edit]

I removed this from the article as it relates to an adjoining village, not this one: 'In 1968, Mudiad Amddiffyn Cymru (Welsh Defence Movement), a Welsh republican movement, blew up a water pipe at Hapsford near Helsby. The water pipe was carrying water from Chester to Liverpool.'[1] thanks Geopersona (talk) 19:44, 21 March 2023 (UTC) Geopersona (talk) 19:44, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
