Legacy[edit]

One of the claims made in the Legacy section seem spurious and untrue.

"Later, Hughes's ideas influenced President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Keynesian public policy, by demanding that the state ensured all citizens would be working.

I don't think its credible at all to say that Hughes directly influenced Roosevelt. The idea of universal labour is not unique to Hughes. Tangential similarity of thought does not prove influence. It seems like the author of the citation is making a broad, philosophical point, rather than describing a tangible historical reality.

On a similar note "Hughes's ideas have also been compared to those of Lawrence Mead in terms of requiring the poor to work." This again seems tangential. The mere fact that a comparison has been made does not warrant an inclusion in a wikipedia article.
