Plot[edit]

The plot section is a disgrace. It's all in different tenses and stuff... can anybody clear it up? For anyone who doesn't know, it should be in the tense of the following example: "Bob goes to the shops and meets Jim". Forgotten what it's called, heh. 89.243.88.219 17:02, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since you know what's wrong and what needs to be done to fix it, I suggest you do a copy edit pass and do what you believe needs to be done. That is how articles improve over time. If you can't edit because you aren't registered, please create an account so that you can. We would all appreciate any contributions you can make. --NrDg 17:28, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I tried to rewrite the plot. Parts of the movie are hard to summarize without talking a lot (or maybe I'm just excessively wordy), so feel free to change what you feel is necessary. Dh993 17:44, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Does the plot have to be so detailed? It gives me shudders looking at it. bibliomaniac15 Prepare to be deleted! 00:15, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From research I did quickly I came across Guideline for plot summary length. Problem is too much detail can lead to copyright problems. It looks like anything over about 600 words is risky for a film this length.--NrDg 00:57, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Word count is 768 as of now. I'd say it is a bit too long if we are aiming for 600 words.--NrDg 01:02, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have an old revision of mine that I'd say is too condensed (only 178 words), but I think it would be a pretty starting point. [1] bibliomaniac15 Prepare to be deleted! 02:07, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've re-done the entire Plot section. It was ridiculously long and slightly schizophrenic. If anyone wants to expand it, they have my blessings. Just try and keep it fairly short. The point of the plot section is not to give the entire movie away, but give a general idea as to what the movie is about. SkittlzAnKomboz 02:32, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should the songs' names be condensed in the plot information like in the first movie's article? Considering how long the plot information should be at, I think we should. Calebaldwinjun9 01:53, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to do as much as I could with the grammar and sentence structure. I don't know how I did with keeping the tense consistent. Hopefully I improved the section altogether! Cactusjump (talk) 19:14, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article Tags and Issues[edit]

I have tagged this article as having the following issues (and for the following reasons):

  • Refimprove - article has only a handful of references, and has several unreferenced statements and and entire unreferenced section
  • Plot - 979 words - violates WP:MOSFILM. Way too long.
  • Lead - the lead needs to be rewritten per WP:LEAD and WP:MOSFILM, and this whole advertising sounding spiel "The World Premiere took place on August 14, 2007[3] in Downtown Disney, Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, California. As celebrities swept down the blue carpet, the cast including Ashley Tisdale, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens arrived one by one on the back of open top cars to be met by screaming fans from all over the world." needs to go
  • Self-published, namely IMDB which is not WP:RS

Additionally, the list of Musical numbers is unnecessary and redundant when all the songs are already included in the plot and there is a separate article for the soundtrack. The character section should be removed completely per WP:MOSFILM and adding nothing to the article but additional plot regurgitation. The article is completely lacking a production section. As such, I have downgraded the incorrect B assessments above to C and Start, depending on the project banner. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 08:25, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, MOSFILM says that a character list may be included. It's true that some editors frown on lists within articles, but that is a personal preference, not a rule. In fact dozens of film articles that have achieved FA include cast/character lists. I agree with the rest of your assessments. I don't know who wrote this article, but it certainly needs work! Thanks for your suggestions. Anyone out there wnat to write a production section? Smatprt (talk) 16:24, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not quite. MOSFILM allows for a cast list, which is different from a character list. Right now, the cast list here doesn't really add anything at all, just repeating their roles from the film. As such, it would make for a tidier, tighter article to just move the actor names into the plot as seen in second main paragraph of the section. A separate cast list should really be reserved more for when information can be added about the casting or other production type information, rather than just a list of names and roles. For example, Jurassic Park is a current FA with a cast section. But note that in that section it includes information about how some of the actors were selected or prepared for their roles. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 16:35, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Humuhumunukunukuapua'a is a real fish!!! Microsofkid (talk) 20:47, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, lol, it is. It's a Hawaiian fish. But does that really matter on here? Isn't this a discussion on the grammer and clarity of the article, not a talk panel? 74.0.209.171 (talk) 11:36, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Summer Vacation[edit]

Apparently, Twilight 90210 has decided to move the High School Musical 2 article to High School Musical 2: Summer Vacation. There is no such subtitle for the movie (the only one to get a subtitle was last year's release) and no documentation stating that the official name EVER had a subtitle. WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 16:01, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. This also goes for the other subtitles assigned ("Status Quo" for the 1st movie). Can someone revert and possibly lock? Cactusjump (talk) 17:45, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Moved back and changes undone. Malpass93 (talk) 18:41, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect info[edit]

{{editsemiprotected}} The premier performances of High School Musical 2 Live on Stage listed on this entry are amateur, the actual world premier is in Wimbledon, London, England, this August.

Not done, please provide a source for this change. fahadsadah (talk, contribs) 10:23, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't matter. Disney/MTI chose amateur theatres for the World premiere and subsequent regional premieres. A premiere is a premiere. If this addition is to be made, it should only say the "professional premiere" as that is what makes it notable. Smatprt (talk) 04:06, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Miley Cyrus Cameo[edit]

Shouldn't there be a mention of Miley Cyrus's cameo at the end of the movie? --DisneyFriends (talk) 20:56, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
